Systems Trainer

 

 

Reports to: Senior Director of Training

Employees Supervised: none

 

Job Summary: A Systems Trainer is a professional who successfully conducts training classes for new/existing users/supervisors; providing instruction on an electronic medical record as well as other systems/applications utilized within the organization (to an audience with a variety of technical expertise/skill); training delivery will include live, virtual, or a hybrid delivery. The Systems Trainer develops training materials (to include written quick-reference guides, video based instructions etc.) and modifies existing training materials ongoing/as needed. They participate in training implementation plans along with other project members/stakeholders and partners in the role out of plan. The Systems Trainer configures/builds training environments to provide accurate/effective material/education and has the ability to travel as needed to conduct trainings on location which may include occasional need to flex schedule to include evenings/weekends. Serves as a subject-matter-expert to help coordinate system upgrades and assists in overall operations via critical analysis. Serves as a resource to assess employee use of applications/systems to determine if regulatory/organizational standards are being met. Continually develops knowledge of organization’s business/services to enhance/improve ability to deliver instruction. Functions in a self-directed manner which includes the ability to conduct training classes, provide instruction on various technical topics and coordinate educational projects within the organization.

Qualifications

 

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. Education and Experience: Minimum of an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and four years of specialized experience in supporting training, tools, software installs/upgrades, instructional design, preparing classrooms/facilities/necessary equipment for classes and delivering classroom instructor led training/one-on-one/on-the-job training; Experience in a healthcare/medical setting preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid drivers license in the state of residence plus three-year driving history and a driving record in good standing at the time of hire.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Ability: Excellent presentation and verbal skills. High level of competency with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other resource building programs such as Storyline/Camtasia. Ability to learn new systems and gain competency/expertise quickly. Able to maintain an appropriate degree of knowledge, skill, and ability with applications/programs to provide functional support. Must be able to function as part of a team providing a high level of quality service. Strong customer service orientation and ability to follow through issues to resolution; takes initiative to problem-solve. Detail oriented, strong analytical, organizational skills. Ability to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changes. Ability to interact with all levels of organization. Has ability to learn organization’s model of service delivery and processes/terminology. Familiar with process improvement and project management. Experience instructing using several adult education methodologies, to include: demonstration-performance, lecture, case study, teaching interviews, guided discussion, and virtual training environments. Ability to use sound instructional design principles to enhance trainings/presentations. Capable of providing formal and informal implementation guidance, integration, and change management support tasks in a dynamic and interpersonal setting to support functional users requiring assistance.

 

Additional Requirements: Employee must be at least 21 years of age and successfully complete all agency orientation.
