Corporate Development Director-Ewing, NJ

SERV, a well-established leader in behavioral healthcare in NJ, provides a wide range of quality residential and support services for people living with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities and Mental Illness. 

 

SERV Behavioral Health System is seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Development Officer who will be responsible for leading efforts to secure financial support from local, regional, state and multi-national companies in the metro New Jersey and Philadelphia markets.  Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Development & Marketing and working closely with the Grants & Foundations Officer, Communications Officer, Marketing & Outreach Officer and senior leaders, volunteers and board members, the Corporate Development Officer is responsible for supporting quarterly goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a diverse base of corporations and businesses with the potential to support SERV Behavioral Health System at an annual level of $5,000 to

$100,000 or more.

 

This position will play a critical role by assisting the Senior Vice President of Development & Marketing in the creation and successful execution of a substantial and sustainable development program, in particular in the stewardship of key corporate relationships. The Corporate Development Officer will also work closely with SERV Behavioral Health System's team to fully leverage the organization's outreach activities and events to meaningfully engage prospects and donors. In total, the Development team is responsible for securing in excess of $2 million in annual support from individual, corporate, and foundation sources during the current fiscal year. SERV Behavioral Health System's Development & Marketing plan, which will be implemented over the next several years, projects a growth in program size that would increase this annual fund raising goal to exceed $10 million.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify corporate donors to support SERV Behavioral Health System through sponsorships, partnerships, contributions and
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a diverse portfolio of current, past and potential contributors with a goal of securing $1million or more in annual support from area companies and national organizations with a local
  • Specifically responsible for the development and implementation of a plan of action to
  • engage a minimum number of corporate and business partners annually to meet the financial goals of the development department. Multi-year partnerships are both encouraged and expected to be developed.

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of a corporate solicitation pipeline with a minimum number of corporations/businesses identified in all 3 key stages at all times (the cultivation stage, solicitation stage, and stewardship stage).
    • Writing, assembling, and submitting corporate funding requests, including letters of intent, solicitation letters, proposals, budgets, acknowledgements, and
  • Overseeing timely delivery of corporate benefits and
  • Secure corporate sponsors and underwriters for major

 

  • Identify major businesses' philanthropic interests and provide them with an opportunity to realize an outstanding philanthropic experience through their charitable investment of time and financial support to SERV Behavioral Health System.
  • Develop strategies to identify, cultivate, and secure leadership-level support and multi-year
  • commitments from new corporate partnerships.
  • Engage company representatives in events, site visits, and service projects to deepen their commitment to the organization and secure their long-term support of SERV's scale plan.
  • Touch points with 3-5 corporate donors per week, on average, at their offices and events in the New Jersey-Philadelphia markets.
  • Leverage SERV's communication to develop and lead efforts to recognize corporate supporters at events.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Vice President of Development & Marketing and other

  • Department team members to support and leverage meetings with champions and potential donors.
  • Using SERV's corporate development pipeline document maintain accurate records and achieve monthly targets on corporate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Serve as a powerful SERV Behavioral Health System representative at corporate and community functions.
  • Contribute to the intellectual and organizational capacity of SERV Behavioral Health System by staying apprised of local and national trends in mental health and addiction treatment, developmental and intellectual disabilities, corporate philanthropic giving, and fundraising.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 + years of work experience including 3 years of successful fund raising specific to corporate partnership development and implementation. Experience with a behavioral health organization preferred.
  • Strong base of knowledge of all aspects of fund raising with a strong emphasis on
  • corporate giving programs.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with an ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience using donor/relationship management software to track donors, establish goals, and generate reports. Donor Perfect preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and think critically.
